About me . . .

Hello, I'm Mokshada

Like Alice in Wonderland, my journey of self-discovery through childhood has been one of wonder and excitement, boundless curiosity and limitless pursuits. With his contagious affection for life, my father was my white rabbit, sweeping me into a world of discovery where each day was an adventure. As a young child, I was always enthusiastic, whether chasing butterflies or wandering off into a fictional adventure within the bounds of a book, and I am still the same. During the journey, I met many wondrous personalities just as Alice did—the only difference was that these characters were woven into me—a reader, a sportsperson, an author, a leader, a community worker, and most importantly, a dreamer.

From devouring the dailies to every book I could lay my hands on, I became fascinated with the world around me. My love for writing grew alongside my passion for reading, and during the COVID-19 lockdown, I found comfort and inspiration in penning poems. Before long, I published my first collection of poems, The Musings of Chimera!

Stemming from my disciplined upbringing and undeterred passion for an army life, sports were an equally important part of my life. Badminton was one of my early pursuits, and I later took up swimming, inculcating resilience and self-discipline that took me to district and state competitions. However, rowing became the closest to my heart as I grew as a sportsperson, even travelling to national and international competitions. So, when the pandemic hit and my rowing training facilities closed, I felt lost. To my delight, I discovered fencing that demanded physical agility and mental strategy. Fencing soon became my new passion, and I poured all my energies into mastering it, rising to the level of a national player.

My accomplishments in fencing also inspired me to give back to the community. I founded “Fence the Future,” an initiative to encourage children from disadvantaged backgrounds to see sports as a pathway to self-discovery and holistic well-being. Through regular workshops and motivational talks, I want to inspire young minds and encourage them to realise and hone their talents, regardless of their circumstances.

The success of these efforts motivated me to found my NGO, “The Care Takers Society,” where I spearhead events dedicated to special needs children and older people. These experiences have deepened my empathy and reinforced my belief in the importance of inclusive and compassionate service.
Music allows me to explore my creativity while connecting with diverse artists. As a classical vocalist and pianist sharing my melodic expressions at various events, I better understood different musical traditions and the power of storytelling through sound.

Academically, I delved into economic research, contributing articles to national dailies on topics ranging from AI’s role in the economy to the impact of global conflicts on monetary policies, honing my analytical approach and commitment to understanding the complex web of socio-economic and political factors that make a nation. My experiences nurturing my diverse interests taught me the joy of embracing the process rather than simply focusing on the results. There are countless losses behind every victory; I learned to view each setback as an opportunity to learn and grow – this has become a guiding principle in my life.

Each experience shaped me into who I am today—someone passionate about making a difference, whether by authoring books and articles, athletic pursuits, or serving the community. As an student who dreams of leaving her mark on the world, I will welcome new challenges and opportunities with the same energy, enthusiasm, and ambition propelling me thus far.
